Recommended for the nature and beach lover, this fourth largest
island in the world offers an incredibly variety of endemic
fauna including 70 different species of lemur, otherworldly
flora and breathtaking landscapes. The diving, snorkeling
and fishing are world class. The shopping is good with a wide
variety of handicrafts, clothing and local rum. Our itineraries
are designed to cover some of the highlights in a short space
of time but there are many more wonderful things to see and
do.
Another memorable and reasonably priced option for families
and small groups is a yacht charter. This allows you to visit
the more remote islands.
When to go
Avoid the cyclone season
of January to March when the weather in very unpredictable.
Generally from April to November is best weather. June to
August can be cold in the highlands.

get there
Air Madagascar has flights from Johannesburg
on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The flight is 4 hours.
