ROCK
CLIMBING
The mountainous regions of South Africa offer
not only a variety of climbing adventures ranging from easy
to challenging, but also spectacular views of lush valleys,
tumbling waterfalls and majestic mountains.
Climbing Table Mountain in Cape Town is a
unique experience, affording unsurpassed views of the city
and the shimmering ocean below. Robben Island, far out to
sea, is visible from this vantage point. Another popular mountain
climb is up Myburgh’s Waterfall Ravine, on a hot day
the cool shade of the ravine providing welcome relief from
the blazing sun.
Other prime rock and mountain climbing
areas offering remote wilderness, indigenous vegetation, unusual
rock formations, waterfalls, lush valleys and magnificent
scenery include:
The Cedarberg Mountains.
